cousins

this morning, suki was delighted to spend time with her cousin. we do not see her as much as we would like since she moved to another town. this was an extra special day for both of them. they played dollhouse and snacked on grapes while waiting for the rain to stop. 

as soon as the sun came out, they gathered their gear and went out to explore. 

they found worms, ants, 

a few rocks, 

moss, 

raindrops, and puddles to splash in.

we were then called back in by adam, who had made a special treat to enjoy with some coloring.

two days

i was very surprised to see the snow falling again. we were just getting into our springtime routine of various outdoor spring/summer activities. yesterday, we were out in the sun drawing totoro with sidewalk chalk, picking dandelions for tea, and learning to scoot on a scooter. today, it was back to our winter style. suki spent the day with her tuesday friend, sara. they went to the bookstore and library, they made bread, and drank hot cocoa while making a birthday card for our good friend matt. happy birthday, matt!

happy easter!

today was not the typical easter sunday for us. adam is on bed rest with an injured back, and i recently broke my foot. we are in rough shape over here, but we did our best to make it nice for suki. i made matzo brei for breakfast, then suki enjoyed searching for treasure boxes hidden around the bedroom. she had a fun time with her basket full of goodies, and she especially enjoyed the temporary tattoos.
